Igor Angelini is a Senior Advisor to the Executive Director of Europol, in charge, among others, of the files concerning economic and financial crimes. In this capacity, he led the creation of the European Financial and Economic Crime Centre in 2020.

Previously, he worked at the European Commission – Home Affairs, shaping EU policies to fight crime and terrorism and negotiate international agreements on security and police cooperation.

Before that, he was Head of Financial Intelligence at Europol, coordinating investigations of the EU member states in the fields of money laundering, terrorism financing, corruption and criminal asset recovery.

Prior to Europol, he served as head of investigation units with the Italian Guardia di Finanza fighting economic and financial crimes. He graduated in Law and in Economic and Financial Security.
