George L. Piro is the CEO of Piro Global Services, which specializes in Investigative, intelligence, and security
consulting services. Mr. Piro provides business solutions to assist organizations as they face challenges in a
complex international security environment. Mr. Piro is also an internationally renowned speaker, presenter, and
instructor. Mr. Piro is a retired Senior Executive with over 30 years in federal and local law enforcement. A proven,
highly accomplished leader who has demonstrated wide array of distinct capabilities leading major crises, complex
criminal and national security investigations, and large-scale events. Over the course of his FBI career, Mr. Piro
received numerous awards for his intelligence and law enforcement service, including the National Intelligence
Medal of Achievement, the FBI Director's Award for Excellence, ADL’s Blue Shield Award for Counter Terrorism
Excellence, Multiple FBI Combat Theater Awards, and the FBI Medal for Meritorious Achievement for life saving
action.

As the Special Agent in Charge of Miami, the FBI’s fourth largest field office, Mr. Piro was responsible for
overseeing FBI Miami’s counterterrorism, criminal, Cyber, and counterintelligence programs while simultaneously
providing leadership to the office’s 900 plus employees. As one of the FBI’s four offices with extraterritorial
responsibility, Mr. Piro was also instrumental in ensuring the FBI’s mission to protect the American people
extended overseas, specifically in the Caribbean, Central and South America. Previously, Mr. Piro was the
Assistant Director of the International Operation Division. In this capacity, he drove FBI global operations by
leading the FBI’s Legal Attache Program, which maintains locations in 90 countries around the world.
Over the duration of his extensive career, Mr. Piro held a variety of leadership positions, and has deployed
throughout the world. Most notably, Mr. Piro was selected as the team leader and interrogator for the FBI team
responsible for the interrogation of Saddam Hussein. This marked the first time in FBI history that the
FBI interrogated a significant head of state in his own home country. During this time, Mr. Piro spent seven
months leading the interrogation of Saddam Hussein and other key figures within the former Iraqi regime. At the
time, Mr. Piro had only five years of experience as a special agent in the FBI.

Mr. Piro entered on duty as a special agent on March 14, 1999, initially assigned to the International Terrorism
Team at FBI Phoenix and within four years was selected to serve on the FBI’s elite Counterterrorism Rapid
Deployment Team. Mr. Piro later served as the supervisor of the Washington Field Office's Joint Terrorism Task
Force, and assistant special agent in charge of the International Terrorism Branch for the Washington Field Office.
He also served as the Deputy Assistant Director of the WMD Directorate, and the Director of the High-Value
Detainee Interrogation Group, an interagency unit overseen by the Counterterrorism Security Group within the
White House. Mr. Piro is an FBI certified Intelligence Officer and is widely recognized as a subject matter expert
in Counterterrorism and the Middle East.

Mr. Piro was born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon, and is a fluent Arabic and Assyrian speaker. He served as a police
officer in California for nearly ten years preceding his FBI service. Mr. Piro received his Bachelor's Degree from
Chapman University in Criminal Justice and a Master's Degree from Georgetown University's School of Foreign
Service in Security Studies, with a concentration in International Terrorism. He also holds a Master's Certificate
in Arab Studies.
