This keynote will highlight how artificial intelligence (AI) is already playing a crucial role in law enforcement efforts to save children from sexual exploitation and abuse. From quickly identifying child abuse material within thousands of gigabytes of data, to flagging signs of luring or grooming of children in chats, there are many AI tools and techniques available. Centralizing such information in an AI Global Hub, the AI for Safer Children initiative launched by UNICRI’s Centre for AI and Robotics and the Ministry of Interior of the UAE not only provides connections with more than 80 relevant AI tools, but also provides guidance and capacity-building trainings to law enforcement worldwide on how to responsibly implement these AI tools into investigative workflows.
